This site, now in its 27th season, is a labour of love and fun from one of Ottawa's most avid time trialists and number crunchers. It adheres to and is permitted by the laws of Canada, promotes the objectives of every bicycle club whose results are shown, and is donated free of charge by myself for your enjoyment and usage. If you would like results from series you ride in to be shown here, give me (celia.mcinnis@gmail.com) a shout!
NOTE that this site had to be quickly moved to a new server with a new version of Perl. Unfortunately the way of interacting with the web form has changed, so I'll have to do some reprogramming to get the buttons and search boxes working. Meanwhile the links work fine and you can always add query specifications into the URL! :-)

Michael Nash was fastest tonight at 19:00 even, while Sue Schlatter did a remarkable PB of 20:08 - just 2 seconds off of the women's course record of 20:06 set by Meshy Holt on 2002-Jul-18. Looking at the top 25 gender performances, we see that Sue currently holds 19 of the fastest 25 women's 15km times, whereas there's more competition in the men for Aaron Fillion with Warren MacDonald and Michael Nash both riding sub 19. Wouldn't it be great if we get a perfect night in which Sue breaks 20 minutes (the 45km/h mark) and Aaron breaks the 50km/h mark of 18:00? By the way, even more impressive concerning Sue Schlatter's time is the fact Meshy Holt was 21 years younger when she set the course record. Here are the 25 best gender times adjusted for the OBC age handicapping, and even more interesting, here is what we get if we handicap with respect to the VTTA age/gender standards (mathematically adjusted for speed). Here, Sue's performance tonight would be rated at just over 50km/h - that is, she would rate even a little faster than Aaron Fillion! The British admit that their standards are a little generous in terms of the aging, but not generous enough for gender... Also noteworthy in the category performances was Jeremie Lacasse's 23:40 which is the best male Mimime time so far in 2010. There is excellent competition in this category, and we'll be interested to see if Andrew Lattimore's MIM 15 km record of 23:03 is broken this year. By the way, Jeremie, who rode tonight on his father's road bike, also did phenomenally well in the Preston Street Criterium last weekend. Though he was riding with much older Senior 3/4, Junior and U17 cyclists, he finished in the pack getting 13th place overall, just 20 seconds behind the winner. Congratulations! Concerning the rest of tonight's competitors, 28 riders improved upon their previous 2010 OTT best 15km, while 17 improved upon their previous 15km database best. Wow, look at the improvement for David Gazsi, who not only went under 20 minutes for the first time, but he did so by more than 30 seconds. Great riding with lots more improvements expected - it's still only June!

These results were first posted on the OBC site circa 11:30 on 2010-Jun-25 and are available here for your added pleasure and analysis.

(Note that I'd gladly type in the results each time, getting the results up within a few of hours of the event, as I did for the WTT series for the decade beginning in 1998, and for the OTT series from 1999-2002 and again in 2006. Regardless, I will continue to donate this statistical time trial result service to you, even though doing so has, surprisingly, resulted in my EXPULSION from the OBC ! I guess I must at least thank the OBC executive for taking on the grunt work and leaving me to do just the more interesting side of my result service, but I do want to make it absolutely clear that I would gladly help the OBC Board input the results, lest complaints about me just lazily sucking in the results surface! The choice is theirs. If they want the help, I'm here and will do it - even if I remain expelled! Such is my level of dedication to public service and disinterest in private politics.)
